Practice Profile

Aire Valley Architects: Addingham Architect offering a Professional and Approachable Service

Aire Valley Architects Ltd is directed by Addingham Architect, Marc Taylor, an independent RIBA qualified with over 20 year post qualification experience. Established in 2010 the business is well established and operates from offices near Ilkley and Skipton, servicing clients in locations such as Addingham, Burley in Wharfedale, Bingley, Eldwick, Baildon, Silsden, Steeton and Eastburn, Otley, Guiseley, and far as Grassington and Ingleton.

Marc, provides a professional and personable service for small and medium size projects, predominantly in the domestic residential sector. A large proportion of commissions are house extensions, loft conversions, renovations or new build bespoke dwellings and small residential development schemes. Some commercial projects complete the portfolio which includes experience of heritage and work affecting Listed Buildings.

Providing a personal service, Addingham Architect Marc aims to make the process and experience of working with an Architect as efficient and stress free as possible, including simple and clear approach to fees and the appointment process, realistic timescales for delivery and providing an appropriate extent of services to suit the needs of the project.

With a preference for design work over project administration work, most commissions involve survey work, architectural design, and services to administer and help acquire planning and building regulation statutory approvals with assistance to help appoint other consultants as required.

Marc has developed strong working relationships with local Planning and Building Control departments, other consultants and contractors in the area.

Marc’s education and extensive experience provides a sound understanding of project requirements and appropriate architectural solutions whether a pragmatic design approach, architectural sympathetic, or more bespoke design and architecturally ambitious solutions are required.

In recent years, Aire Valley Architects has also engaged in conservation and environmental enhancement projects. Whilst this work is not in the traditional architect’s handbook, the experience is rewarding and has developed a strong understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain policies introduced to the planning system in early 2024 and resulted in the development of a sister company called Habitat Exchange, established to deliver Biodiversity Units to help developers meet their BNG obligations.

We are committed to delivering accurate drawn information and optimum design solutions for every project, and recognize the collaborative nature of the Architectural process. Many of our projects are available to view here on our website.
